Participants in the Introduction to Judaism class often talk about their Jewish Journey. I once was one of those students whose Jewish journey led me to becoming an Ambassador for Reform Jewish Outreach of Boston. What a trip! As an Ambassador in the Intro Class, I have had the unique opportunity to watch individuals transform from curious students with many questions to active participants in the eternal discussion of Judaism. People come from different backgrounds, they come for different reasons but they come together learning, sharing experiences and view points during the 16 classes led by the best of Boston's dynamic rabbis and educational staff. Other valuable benefits of attending an Intro to Judaism class are new found friendships, the desire to continue Jewish study and reading, and for some, the life changing decision to convert to Judaism. If you are considering signing up, reach out to the supportive RJOB staff or speak to a rabbi who will help guide you through the process. Like you, I was unsure at first. My journey took me from the Intro class, to my conversion, through continued study, and most recently, my adult bat mitzvah.
